Accountant’s Copies (Terms May Vary Depending on Quickbooks Version)Creating- Have the QuickBooks file open for the company that you want to make an accountant’s copy for.
- Click on File at the top left of the page, then select Accountant’s Review.
- Select Create an Accountant’s Copy.
- A window will pop up asking you where you would like to save the accountant’s copy, select the proper location and write down the location.
- Move your mouse to the file name area and type the name of the company and the date.
- Click OK, accountant’s copy should be complete.
Restoring- Have the QuickBooks file open for the company that you want to restore an accountant’s copy for.
- Be sure that the accountant’s copy (CD, floppy, zip disk) has been placed in the proper drive.
- Click on File at the top left of the page, then select Accountant’s Review.
- Select Import Accountant’s Changes.
- A message will pop up telling you to back up; click on the Change icon in the bottom half of the new screen and select the folder C:\ in the scroll down menu.
- Go to the file name selection and type in the name of the company and (the date using only numbers).
- Click Save and you should get a message that you have successfully backed up and an Import Changes window will appear.
- Select the proper drive from the scroll down menu and double click on the file in that folder.
- The Quickbooks program will then automatically import the changes.
- The accountant’s copy changes should be imported.
